MX Entertainment Debuts Multi-Channel Video Technology in New Trey Anastasio Live Concert DVD
Thursday April 22, 8:15 am ET

AN FRANCISCO, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- MX Entertainment today announced the debut of its MX Multi-Channel Video(TM) DVD Technology in a new live concert release from Phish front man Trey Anastasio. "Trey Anastasio Live at the Warfield with Special Guest Carlos Santana" is the first of several upcoming live concert releases that incorporate MX's newest technology, which enables viewers to experience multiple and simultaneous video tracks, much like multi-channel audio or "surround sound."

DVDs incorporating MX technology provide viewers with new features specifically designed to make the most of the live concert experience, as well as an easy-to-use interface that relies on the remote's familiar arrow and enter keys. With "Live at the Warfield," MX technology enables viewers to seamlessly switch between the director's cut and a wide shot of the entire stage at any point in the concert. By simply pressing the remote's "enter" button, fans can go from close-ups of Trey and Santana jamming to a wide shot of the entire 10-piece band.

The DVD was co-produced by Dionysian Productions and MX Entertainment and was directed by MX president Zane Vella. The DVD is exclusively available online at Phish Dry Goods (www.phish.com) and the Santana Store (www.santana.com).

MX is currently in post-production for Sanctuary Records' upcoming DVDs featuring rock groups Ween and Big Head Todd & the Monsters, and with People Productions for the upcoming release "Reggae on the River." As with the Trey Anastasio DVD, MX is working closely with the respective artists and publishers to create a great live music experience on DVD and to make use of MX's unique technology in groundbreaking and compelling ways.

MX DVD encompasses three variations of multi-channel video: MX Switch, MX Direct and MX Preview. MX Preview, formerly known as MX Multiangle¨, was recently used to power the "Select-a-Stone" feature on the highly successful Rolling Stones' "Four Flicks" DVD set and provides a picture-in-picture preview that allows consumers to easily select their viewing choice by using the arrow buttons on the remote control. MX Switch and MX Direct enable a new kind of user interface for DVD, bringing more interactivity and choice to live convert videos.

"MX DVD Technology is delivering a breakthrough viewer experience and a cost-effective way for artists, labels and publishers to give consumers better value from their DVD," said Zane Vella, co-founder and president of MX Entertainment. "MX is designing a new way for fans to experience music in their living rooms with more video and more control of what they see on stage."
